This partnership between two hospitals in India and a hospital in Norway, are focusing mainly on the youngest citizens of each country: newborns. Trained nurses, breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact are simple measures to reduce mortality rates among newborns. These evidence-based practices are examples of the kind of measures the exchange participants are working to implement at their hospitals. By exchanging doctors, nurses and medical technical personnel they are contributing to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and implementation.

Furthermore, the project aims to provide Norwegian health personnel with experience in diagnosis and treatment of patients whose needs and diagnoses they are unlikely to be exposed to in Norway. The project also intends to increase multicultural understanding within newborn health care.
