Connecting Europe with Africa, this triangular partnership consists of Nkhotakota Youth Organisation (Malawi), Flora Upper Secondary School (Norway) and Uganda Youth Skills Training Organisation (Uganda). The target group for this project is young people aiming for professional careers as entrepreneurs or skilled vocational workers. The different activities and initiatives allow youth to gain a comprehensive spectrum of relevant skills for their desired careers. In Malawi, solar energy has been chosen as an area of focus, in connection with social entrepreneurship.
The exchange of staff includes both in-house teachers as well as professionals hired as consultants. The selected professionals advise the host country partners on a range of vocational and entrepreneurial skills. They also advise on the schools’ curriculum development. Moreover, specific career-counselling activities have been designed to assist the young people to secure apprentice contracts. Through the project, young people also improve their ability to communicate actively in English.
