Check your eligibility here

Norec has four absolute requirements that must be met to qualify for a grant. Check if you’re eligible by answering these questions. Click through the test below – it only takes a minute.

1 Are you a legal entity?

To qualify for a Norec grant, you must be a legal entity, such as a foundation, association, organisation, company, institution, municipality, county municipality, state, or similar.

Apologies

A Norec exchange must be between two legal entities. Norec provides grants to a company or similar entity, which in turn send employees on a work exchange to another country.

Talk to your employer

Individuals cannot apply to Norec for work exchange. It is a company or similar entity that applies, then in turn send their employees to work in another country.

We encourage you to discuss with your employer the opportunities that a Norec exchange offers. See the link below for helpful tips.

2 How many employees are you in your organisation?

We want those who go on work exchange to another country to have a good experience at work. Therefore, we require you to have enough staff to create a proper working environment.

3 Do you have an annual report/financial statement from last year?

Apologies

We cannot give grants to entities without an annual report/accounting numbers.

4 Do you have a partner in one of Norec's partner countries?

To receive a grant from Norec, you must have a collaborating partner in one of our partner countries. This partner must, like you, be a legal entity with an approved annual report/financial statements.

In some cases, we make exceptions for those with a partner in a DAC country.

Apologies

Norwegian policy for development aid dictates that the Norec grant is intended for specifically 25 countries.

In some cases, we make exceptions for those with a partner in a DAC country.

Seek out relevant partnerships

Unfortunately, Norec does not have the capacity to help applicants find a partner in another country. We are working on a digital portal for this purpose, but it will not be ready until the winter of 2024/2025 at the earliest.

We encourage you to carefully consider what you wish to learn, what you can teach, and in which country you want to collaborate. Then, you should investigate which venues or platforms where you can meet such companies or organizations.

You are welcome to apply for a feasibility study

Familiarise yourself thoroughly with the 2024 announcement and use our guide before applying. Remember that the application must be completely filled out.
